GIRLS' COLLEGE

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

A fine day means everything to :a sports gathering, and when yesterday's forecast hinted at a break in the weather, pupils of Wellington Girls* College cannot have felt very happy at the prospect for their sports to-day. However, their luck has held, and this afternoon the various events were keenly contested at Kelburn Park, before Miss Greig (principal) and a good gathering of friends of ,the 'school. Mrs. Taylor (games mistress) was in charge of .the sports, and she was assited in the judging by Messrs. Longworth, Norman Grant^ Shallcrass, White, and Hefford; also members of the staff. Representatives of the OldGirls' Association ran an ice cream, stall in the interests of school funds, and afternoon tea was served by the staff.' ' ■■■■'.•.■•
