SHOW AT ISLAND BAY
A display of flowers, vegetables, and home products was held' recently in the Baptist Church Hall, Island Bay, and was most successful. The hall provided a most striking picture, beautiful blooms of a very High standard being in abundance. Tho artistic arrangements were due to the untiring efforts of Mrs.- Walters and her band of ladyhelpers. One of the outstanding features of the evening session was the exhibition of sweet peas by Mr. G. S. Nieoll, of Karori. Mr. Nicol.l gave a talk on the "Cultivation of Sweet Peas," which was interesting and instructive. A vote of thanks, moved by Mr. Boocock, was accorded to the lecturer. The special thanks of the society are due to the Baptist Church authorities who, granted the use of the hall free o£ charge.
