DAMAGE AT WHAKATANE
(By Telegraph.—Press Atsoeiation.) WHAKATANE, This Day. • , A fire occurred early this morning in the .premises owned by L. Buddie and occupied by L. Bunning, electrician, and Buddie and Otley, solicitors. The outbreak started in Bunning 's shop, which was completely gutted. Most of the stock had been removed to new premises. A good deal of damage was done in Buddie and Otley 'b premises by fire and water. The fire was quickly subdued by, the brigade. Mr. Buddie had insurance of £1000 on the premises in the British Traders' Office; and the contents of Messrs. Buddie and Otley's were insured in the South British Office. Two racing motor-cycles in Mr. Bunning's premises were destroyed, but the insurance is not known. Bo prepared., See that you have adequate insurance on your house and furniture.
