WORK AMONGST YOUTH

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, 6th March. This evening's session of the Presbyterian General Assembly was devoted to a youth demonstration. Miss Buchanan was ordained as a deaconess, and set apart for the work of travelling secretary of the Young Women's Bible Class Union. The Bey. E. P. Blamires, Methodist Young People's secretary, addressed the Assembly on "Continuity in Religious Education." He made a strong appeal for co-operation in the work of carrying out a conipleto programme of religious education, and was given a very cordial reception. In connection with the social service report, the Eev. John Paterson, of Wanganui, intimated that the Marg#ret Watt Orphan Homes would be erected shortly after the end of April. This year the approximate value of the Watt Trust would be about £80,000, and it would be administered by the minister and session of St. Paul's, Wanganui, in co-operation with the Presbyterian Social Service Association in Wellington.
