THE SUDAN MISSION

''Life Amongst the Dinkas" was the subject of an interesting lecture given at the Town Hall Concert Chamber last night by Mrs. E. K. Kimmer, ot the Sudan United Mission. . The Hon. A: J. Stallworthy (Minister of Public Health) presided, and spoke briefly of the good work being done by the mission. ' , /., nt The lecturer stated that the Dinkas were a tribe of upwards q£ 250,000 natives, divided into several sections, and spread over a fairly wide area, in which there were five mission stations. She and her husband worked amongst the section called the Donjol Dinkas, in whose territory, about 500 miles south of Khartoum, her husband had established a mission about seven years ago. By means of lantern slides she illustrated the progress that had taken place there in the course ot the last seven years. Mrs. Rimnier, who arrived in the Dominion in September last, is on a year's leave on account of her health; and until hey return to the Sudan she intends to carry on lecturing and deputation work throughout New Zealand. Both she and her husband were born in Auckland.
