FINE WEATHER
, EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
There has been little change in the uiotoorological situation since yesterday. Pressures aro still high and very uniform over the Dominion, but a slight fall h:is taken place sinco yesterday. The only blemishes on an otherwise fair woather chart are misty rain at East Cape, where 30 points were recorded and a report of 4'points of rain at Puysegur Point. Otherwise serene weather rules. Many places report calms, but southeasterly winds prevail in the Auckland Province, westerlies in Foveaux Strait, and uortherlies clsowhere. A few stations reported morning fogs at 9 a.m. to-day. . ■ ■
The four main centres experienced unusually fine weather yesterday. At Auckland there was a light south-easter-ly breeze. Some cloud was in evidence this morning, but yesterday was clear. At Wellington there were only light airs yesterday, but this morning a light northerly wind set in. The sky has been practically cloudless. Christchurch had a clear day yesterday, but there was low cloud there this morning. Winds have been mainly from the east. Dunedin has had light and variable winds and few clouds.
The forecast is for moderate to fresh south-easterly winds in the Auckland Province, elsewhere light to moderate northorlics prevailing, but backing later to southerliea and freshening somewhat. Kne weather is expected to continue over the greater part of the Dominion, but some scattered showers arc likely in the extreme north, and about East Cnpe and later, possibly, at scattered placed in eastern districts when the southerly chango sets in.
