There was a largo attendance. Tiio going was good. Tho totalisator handled £9905, against S 11,281 for the flrst day last year, a decrease of £1376. Results:— Te Hapara Hack, of 120 soys; six furlongs — 1 Dimmer, 7.13 (Stratton), 1; 9 Squadron, 8 2 2: 8 Atapai, 7.10, 3. Albo started: 2 Keen 8 5 4 King Manu 8.3, 1 Otene 8.0, 3 Claremore 7.12, 7 Ardrl 7.10, 5 Whakaari 7.7. Won by a nose,- a head between second and third. Whakaari was fourth. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec. Flying Handicap, of 140 soys; six furlongs^— 1 Pliramerton, 8.0 (Young), 1; 3 Plain bailing, 8.1, 2; 2 Tea Lady, 7.4, 3. Also started: 4 Startle 7.13.; Startle collapsed soon after the barrier was raised. Won by half a length, two lengths' between second and third. Tiloe, lmin 15 l-ssec. Maiden Scurry, of 100 soys; five furlongs.— 4 Sunglare, S.O (Nixon), 1; 5 Climatic, 8.0, I; 9 Little Wonder, 8.0, 3. Also started: 1 Running Over, 7 Lady Kaikohu, 3 Waitoki and Abbey Dale .(bracketed), Priraax and Velooe (brackoted), 6 Fins Boy, 8 Elizabeth, S.O.
