KHANDALLAH AFFAIRS
_ A meeting of the Khandallah Progressive Association was held last evening, Mr. D. G. Clark presiding. A member drew attention to a deep hole in Nairnville Park, which was filled to a depth of six or seven feet with water. A ease was reported of children having to be rescued from the water. The matter has been referred to the City Council. It was pointed out that the widening of Old Porirua road from Main road to Nairnville Park had been begun, but not finished, and that the road was dangerous. It was decided to complain to the City Council. ,
It was decided to write to the Post and Telegraph Department asking for two more boxes, one near the corner of Old Porirua" road and Main road, and the other near Cashmere avenue and Izard road.
The Railways 'Department is to be asked to cut back the bank near the railMay line between Ngaio mid Kli:mdalluh to itnprovu the visibility. The opinion was expressed that the crossing was one of the most dangerous in New Zealand.
