HOUSE DESTROYED

DUNEDIN, 6th February. A fire destroyed a five-roomed wooden dwelling at Tainui in the early hours of this morning, and a six-roomed wooden house next door was also slightly damaged. The former was owned by Mr. J. S. Skinqer, and was insured with the A. and P. Company for £800, and the contents in the same office for £125. The other house, which was owned and occupied by Mr. J. Eeardon, was insured for £800 in the United Office.

Mr. Skinner and his_ family were forced to escape in their night attire. The cause of the fire is not known.
