IMPORTATION OF CATTLE

NAPIEB, This Oay. •Tho A. and P. Society decided to request the Government to prohibit the importation of cattle, sheep, and swino from the United States. Tho question arose out of a discussion on foot and mouth disease. Speakers averred that importations from the Channel Islands wore forbidden, but cattle from thoso places reached New Zoaland through America, thus compelling the farmers hero to pay an extra profit.
