, It is estimated that, the '.contributions and levies of unionists "to the idle miners on. the northern coalfields since March last have amounted to £1,300,000, of which sum half a million lia'B been contributed by miners who have worked throughout the dispute. Mr. Weaver, Minister of Mines, espressos the opinion that with peace at least 5000 miners, cannot be reabsorbed into this industry. . V '■-.-
