NO COMPLAINTS
TOUR OF POLICE STATIONS
"Generally speaking, I found things very satisfactory," said the Commissioner of Police; (MrJ W. B. M'Jlveney) to-day, when asked to comment on hia recent tour of police stations in the North Island. Mr. M'llveney returned to Wellington on Friday evening after an absence of fifteen days. During that time, he visited Wanganui, Baetihl, Tokaanu,. Taupo, Botorua, Pntaruru, Cambridge, Hamilton, Auckland, T» Euiti, Mokau, New Plymouth, and other Taranaki towns, and Palm erst on North. Travelling by motor, Mr. M'llveney was able to make the trip with the minimum of delay! He inspected stations and equipment, and when the men paraded before him, he invited them to make suggestions and to bring to his notice any complaints they might have to make. "I am very proud to lay that during the whole of the tour I did not receive one single complaint,"'he told a "Post" reporter.
Mr. M'llveney has yot to visit the stations in the Napier and Gisborne districts, and those in the South Island, but he is unable to say at present when he will be leaving Wellington again.
