STILL MORE PHYSICIANS
i There .are 149,521 physicians in the !. United States, a number greater than Jin'any other country of the world, and
;; also greater in proportion to populaj- tion than for any^othor country. There ■ are seventy-four medical schools recognised by the American Medical Association, six less than there were two years ago, but' owing to enlarged facilities ,in these schools enrolments, which were 18,840 in 1926, increased to 20,545 in 1928. Evidently there will be no general shortage of physicians for the text generation. The number graduated in 1928 was 4262, compared to 3962 in 1926. The highest proportion of ' physicians to population in the United States exists in the district of Columbia. .- ______^__^_
