SYDNEY, This Day. At tho Leiehardt Stadium" last night in a _contest for the welter-weight championship, before a huge attondanco, Tommy Fairhall (9st 1341b) fought a draw with the holdor, Wally Hancock (lOst 4-Jlb). It was a hard contest, Hancock doing most of the leading. Ho was in troublo in tho fourth round. Fairhall was floor--6d in tho seventh. Hancock was down twice for the count of nine in the eleventh and when he rose he planted a fierce punch to Fairhall's eye, which was damaged. Fairhall showed fine generalship, evading much punishment, but Hancock took more than his share of body punches.
