Mr. Chichester, tho New Zealand airman, flying to Australia, who arrived at Karachi late on Tuesday evening, very tired, left yesterday morning for Calcutta. He spent last night at Dhansi, and flew to Dumdum Aerodrome, Calcutta, to-day. He covered the distance of seven hundred miles in six and three-quarter hours. This is almost a record achievement for a small 'plane over the most- difficult part of India. Chichester was fatigued on his arrival at Karachi on Tuesday after a long flight from Chabar, and set out next morning for Calcutta, but was only able to reach Jhansi. He hopes to leave Calcutta to-morrow for Akyab and thence to fly' to Bangoon.
