JOHNSONVILLE SALE.
.Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale held on Wednesday, as follows: —To a large attendance of the public we submitted a large yarding of sheep and cattle. The cattle yarded were chiefly bullocks, with a few pens 'of cows and heifers. A small consignment of vealers also came forward. Prices for ox beef showed no alteration as compared -with late rates. Cow and heifer beef was in good demand, while vealers -met with keen competition. It wa« the best quality yarding of sheep for some considerable time, and a good sale resulted, prices for wethers showing a slight i advance, ewes on a par with late rates. Lambs were yarded in larger numbers than last week, but the demand was slack. We quote: Heavy bullocks, £15, £15 10s, £16 2s 6d, £16 7s 6d; medium bullocks, £13- 7s 6d, £13 15s, £14 lOd; extra heavy cows, £11 12s 6d, £12; heavy cows, £9 2s 6d, £10, £10 12s 6d; extra heavy heifers, £13 10s; heavy heifers, £11" ss; vealers, £2 12s 6d, £3 10s, £4 10s; heavy wethers, 275, 27s 6d, 28s, 28s 8d; medium wethers, 25s 4d, 25s 6d, 26s Sd; heavy ewes, 18s 3d, 19s 9d, 20s 6d; medium ewes, 16s 9d, 17s 3d, 17s 6d; lambs, 19s. 9d, 20s 6d, 225, 235, 23s 6d.
