Arrangements for the farmers' tour under the auspices of the British National Union are well in hand, and the British party ivill sail from here in the Remuera on 17th January. Mr. Samuel E. Whitley, who is now leader of the party, will be accompanied by Mrs. Whitley. Mr. Whitley is a brother of the late Speaker of the House of Commons, lie farmed in Surrey for several years, and he has been a member of the Council of the British Dairy Farmers' Association for about thirty years, and chairman of the Show Committee for over twenty years. In this latter capacity he has been one of the chief organisers of the Annual Cattle Show, Islington, lie lives at Reading, and has an official connection with the Dairy Research Institute attached to the Reading University. Mr. Cridlan bought the Maisemore Park Estate in 1897, and established a herd of Angus cattle on the best "strains and choicest pedigrees in Scotland. Crosher, John Francis, F.R.G.S., Melton Mowbray; Stilton cheese manufacturing and dairy farming; member of the Royal Agricultural Society and British Dairy Farmers' Association; member of the Rotary International. Sir. Richard comes of a farming stock, his father farmed in South Lincolnshire for many years, and he carried on the farm for some time after his father's death. As stated previously, Mr. Samuel Whitley, the leader, will be taking Mrs. Whitley with him. Mr. Crawford will be accompanied by Mrs. Crawford, and other wives accompanying their husbands are Mrs. Cridlan, Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Lane, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Thistletou-Smith, and Lady Winfrey.

Mrs. Llewellyn Lloyd will be accompanied by her daughter, and Mr. James Smith will have with him Miss Smith.
