ENGLISHMEN RESTING { (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") eiIRISTCHURCII, This Day. In preparation for the match to-mor-row tho members of tho M.C.C. team made- uso of two prepared wickets at Lancaster Pavk yesterday for practice, Tho team will have a rest in Christchurch before the game, and each player should be in the pink of condition. The personnel of the team will not bo definitely known until to-morfjw morning, and it is not decided yetwhether W. Cornford, tho Sussex wickctkeeper, who was injured in the game against Southland at lnvercargill, will bo able to play. E. T. Benson is still suffering from a split finger incurred in the South Canterbury match, and whether he will be able to play to-morrow in the event of Cornford not being fit enough is still doubtful. K. H. Bowley, the wellknown Sussex batsman and bowler, is still under treatment at lt-otorua for sciatica, but it is hoped that he will bo ablo to rejoin tho team.before the second Test match in Wellington on 24th January. Tho weather is now fine and with a drying wind tho .pitch at Lancaster Park should be in first-class order for to-morrow's test. The outfield is in splendid order.
