FATAL INJURIES
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DAEGAVILLE, This Day. The death took place at the Northern Wairoa Hospital at Te Kopuru this morning of Mervyn M'Carroll, aged 25, a single man, one of thd victims- of the motor smash at Glink's Gully on Monday evening. The deceased, who was the second son of Mr. John H. M'Carroll, chairman of the Kaipara Hospital Board, with two others, on Monday night, was motoring on the beach in a home-made racing car. While they were making a sharp Hum the front wheel collapsed. The car overturned, pinning M'Carroll and G. Cates underneath. The other oecupani, J. Elliott, who was riding on the back of the car, was thrown clear. M'Carroll was extracted ."-•oni the wreckage, and found to be badly crushed, but his injuries were not considered serious. He was taken to the hospital, where computations set in, with the- result that he died last night. Cates suffered extensive bruises, and Elliott was practically unhurt.
