FAMOUS DETECTIVE DEAD
British Official Wireless. BUGBY, 7th January. The death has taken place of < Mr. Frank Froest, for many years a famous British detective. Thirty-five years ago lie arrested iv Argentina and bought to England Jabez Balfour, who received a heavy sentence for the "Liberator" frauds, and later he was responsible for bringing Crippeu to justice for the murder of his wife. Crippen was identified on an Atlantic liner while escaping to Canada, and information of this was sent to Froest by wireless telegraphy—the first time wireless was used to bring about tho arrest of a criminal.
