DE LA CIERVA'S AUTOGIRO
SEFTON BRANCKEE IMPRESSED LONDON, Bth January. Sir Seftou Brancker, the Director of Civil Aviation, who took up Senor do la Ciorva's autogiro, the so-called windmill 'plane, declared it to be the easiest thing to handle and that it gavo him an extraordinary fooling of confidence. He was convinced that the giroplano had a great future, especially for taking out people from large cities. Tho machine was capable of taking off and landing within thirty yards. It was a weird sight to watch it descending almost vertically under perfect control. Moth 'planes flying round appeared quite large in comparison, with its compactness.
