HORTICULTURE

At the monthly meeting of St. Thomas's Horticultural Society, held in the club room last evening, thero was an excellent attendance of members over which Mr. Salmon presided. Arrangements were completed for the Summer Show to be held next Wednesday. Judges were finally selected. Stewards and tho secretary will be in attendance on Tuesday evening to receive, entries and exhibits; the latter, however, are receivable up to 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The monthly competition brought an unusual number of exhibits, and the display was like a small show. The first place was given to Mr. Smart with a glorious gladioli ("Prince of Wales"), and the second and third places to Mr. McLean with dahlias and pansies.
