THREE CHILDREN DROWNED

SYDNEY, 7th January,

A message from Kempsey, i New South Wales, states that the three children, two girls and a boy, of Charles Barnes, a school teacher of Quambone, were drowned at Jcrscyville. Mr. Barnes, with his wife and children, were picnicking at the beach when tho mother scalded herself when making tea. Mr. Barnes put his family in a car with tho intention of seeking medical aid.' Driving rapidly, he lost his.way, and unwittingly drove into the river. He and his wife were washed to the surface, but tho children were trapped under the car-hood, and it was impossible to rescue them.
