Mr. Ryan, who has for a number of years beep associated with the Australian oil industry, joined the Atlantic Union Oil Company as city sales manager at the company's inception. Much of the initial organising work was handled by him, and his, enthusiasm and marked ability soon earned for him the general sales manager's chair, a position he has held for some time. Patrons of Kirkcaldie's tearooms this week will enjoy the added attraction of hearing Simon Philipoff, the world's greatest balalaika player, who has been specially engaged to play each afternoon from 3.15 to 4.30 in the main tearoom. —Advt.
