NEW ZEALAND HEMP MARKET.
New Zealand hemp buying practically ceased a few days before Christmas. The holiday atmosphere is not _ yet dispelled, although it seems fair to infer from' a few cablegrams received that there has been no recession of valueß. Prices are described as steady, and milling in the Manawatu is-proceeding upon the usual lines at this time of year, and quality of lines coming to hand is quite up to the average. Prices for export are nominal at £28 10s for good fair, £27 for high fair, and £24 for low fair. Tow, £14 for No. 1, and £12 10s for No. 2. •
