SPEEDWAY RACING
SATURDAY'S CONTESTS.
Events to be decided! at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway next Saturday night include the final'of the Golden Helmet, in which the contestants will be C. Spinks (now recovering from an injured ankle) and W. Kilmister, who competed with distinction at Auckland last night. These two riders have been seen in a number of thrilling contests and their .duel next Saturday should be of a very stirring nature. Les. Lawrence, who has broken records in Queensland, will be making his first appearance, and he is to be matched with "Skid" Perkins, another Australian, who has previously appeared on the local track and has given some spectacular displays of broadeiding. The first division riders are to compete in a handicap race, and the second division riders will appear in a special series of scratch races to determine the holder of the Silver Gauntlet, which has been held to date by B. Naylor, who is now in the first division. The programme is one that should, account for much keen racing, with displays of a high order. Other particulars regarding the meeting. are published elsewhere in this issue. ~■■ ■■ ■• . ■ '
