AUSTRALIA'S WEEK-END TOLL1 * (Received 6th January, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Two women were killed and three others injured, one critically, when a car was struck rjy a train at a level crossing near Newport. "Victoria. Six deaths from car smashes in different States and drowning compete the weekend toll. Eight people were injured when a double tram crashed into a stationary tram at Balmain. Many others suffered shock. Some women fainted. Both trams werp damaged.
