NELSON TOURNEY

A number of visiting rinks took part in the Nelson Centre bowling tournament, the final games in which were held In fine weather,on Saturday. The final was a well-contested game, and was decided by one point only. Cappiello (Maitai) made the running throughout, and at the close of the 20th head the game stood Maitai 17, Marlborough (Haswell, s.) 12. But Marlborough, even under these adverse circumstances, played doggedly, and at the change-over on the 21st head Marlborough lay 5. Cappiello, however, managed to draw the fourth shot, and victory thus fell to Maitai by one point.
