NEW DISTRICT SCHOOLS

(From Our Own Correspondent) NELSON, 20th December In the recent State examinations the following nurses from the Nelson Hospital were suceessfuh-Misses Margaret North, Mary Ldson, M. Fleming, A Frew D Wilmer, and Ruth Hay. ' The Minister of Education, the Hon H Atmore, had advised that' Cabinet "has •authorised grants for the erection of new schools at Lower Moutere and Black's Point.

fJ!h F<r Cr J- S oc)f b. ur°' retiring director of the Nelson Technical School, was yesterday met by the pupils and presented with a travelling rug and a set of pipes and pouch. The staff o£ the school also held a farewell function, at which Mr Cockburn was presented with an armchair as a token of esteem.
