In the Sheffield Shield match against Queensland, Victoria in the second innings made 168 for five wickets (Ponsford 3, Byder 4, a'Beckett 56, Eigg 79 not out). Thurlow took two wickets for 77, and Hurwood two for 42. Victoria won by five; wickets.

Thurlow's excellent bowling has created a good impression. He is being talked of as a test possibility.
