EMPIRE ECONOMIC UNION

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. LONDON, 18th December. "The Times" announces the formation of an Empire Economic Union to investigate the problems affecting Empire trade, and advocate all methods calculated to promote development of the Empire's industries and resources, with Lord Melchett as president, Lore! Lloyd as chairman, Lord Barnby and Mr. Bon Morgan vice-chairmen, arid Mr. F. G.. Gopdenough treasurer. The executive includes Mr. Amery, Lord Illiugworth, Sir Herbert Austin, Sir Robert Hadficld, Sir Hugo Hirst, and Sir William Larke. The union will not undertake propaganda work itself, but will approach similar bodies of industrialists throughout the Empire with a view to seeing how far an agreement can be arranged between manufacturers and producers.
