SCHOOL MAGAZINES
The Wellington Girls' College "Reporter" and the "Blue aud Grey," the magaline of the Kelburn Normal School, are :to hand, and both are very creditable productions. The first has an unusual num-
ber of illustrations and photographs, and
J some really good original verse. "The ■',' Blue Heron," by Barbara Withers (Form : 3CI-), was the winning poem in the "Heporter" competition. The usual school {.-■ ■ and form notes are brightly written, some- • times in verse, and there is a section of • news concerning old girls of the college. . : "The Blue and Grey" is a very versa- . tile publication for a primary school, and includes a number, of literary efforts by 'the young folk, in prose and verse. From the editorial onwards there is much that is bright and capably written, and there are. also several photographs of the school sports teams, etc., which add interest to / 'the magazine.-' An entertaining piece* of :; writing for a youngster is "Sir Joseph Ward Meets the Shade of Sir Robert Walpole," by a Standard VI. pupil. ■"' ■ '
