WOMEN AS JURORS

The woman jurist, said Mrs. Scott Lee, talking to a group of Auckland women, is well established in the United States (states : the : "Auckland Star"). Mrs..Lee .was very surprised to find that the system was not known here. When she had to defend a case, she explained, there were often eight women on the ,iury of twelve, and they gave a very efficient service. AY omen's conscientiousness stood them in good stead, and it was appreciated as an asset in public life. Also they had moro time than men,: and men wore hard to procure for this work, so that women -were being used in greater and greater numbers. There wore juvenile Courts in all the large cities, which handled every case that concerned minors, either male or female.
