An unofficial championEhip of Australia and New Zealand will be staged at Te Aro .Baths next Saturday, when the Sydr erVn Vlmm-,'i S ' "Tiger" Eyau and Owen J?"™ths, will meet the local champions, • -,nn eron and "Stumpy" Claridge, in a 100 yards scratch race. Griffiths, by his performances at Gisborne and Napier this week has shown that he is at the top or iiis torm. Cameron, on the other hand, has been doing solid work, and is anxious to maintain his unbeaten record before leaving for Sydney early next month. This race will be of even *nore interest than the Cameron v. Dowsett clash at the -New Zealand championships last February, and is bound to attract a larpe crowd on Saturday. In addition, Griffiths will appear m an invitation 220 yards handicap, m which he will be conceding a start to Miks Kathleen Miller,, the present 220 yards New Zealand ladies' champion. Ryan will show his paces in a 440 yards handicap, in which he will concede starts to Llandge and Rix-Trott. Polo, (living, and handicap events complete the programme.
