GALLIE MEMORIAL BURSARY

As mentioned in "The Post" recently, Mr. John Gallic, of Wellington, has given a memorial bursary to the .Wellington Boys' College in memory of his two sons, Captain Oscar E. Gallic, D.5.0., M.C., R.F.A., and Captain Victor J. Gallic, M.C., Croix dj Guerre, E.F.A. When the College Board o£ Governors met yesterday afternoon a letter from Mr. Gallic, under date of 30th November, was read, in which he said, inter alia: "This day I have paid to the Public Trustee the sum of £1000, and have also signed a deed thereto. I have also paid all charges in connection therewith, and a sum for the administration of the fund by the Public Trustee for all time. The money has been invested in the common fund, and the net amount of interest will be paid to you free of any charges whatsoever . . . I trust the board will be long spared to award this bursary. My desire is that it may stimulate the recipient of the award to emulate my sons, both old boys, in character, patriotism, and devotion to duty."

The chairman of the board (Mr. W. H. P. Barber) said he had written a letter to Mr. Gallic expressiug to him the board's grateful thanks for his generous gift.
