INCREASED LAND TAX
CASES OF HARDSHIP
COMMISSION APPOINTED
The personnel of the Commission which is to inquire into cases of hardship which might arise as the result of the passing of the. Land and Income Tax Amendment Act last session has been decided upon by the Government.
Mr. W. G. Riddell, formerly senior Magistrate in Wellington, is to be chairman, and the other two members will be Messrs. D. G. Clark and A. E. Fowler^ both of whom have occupied the position of Commissioner of Taxes. Mr. Clark is the nominee of the Government, and Mr. Fowler will represent the farming community.
