MEETINGS TO COME
To-night' Mr. Nash will speak in the school, Koro Koro, where Mr. H. G. E. Mason, M;P., will also speak. A further meeting in support of Mr. Nash's candidature will be held to-night at 8 in the Congregational Hall, Alicetown. The spea/kers will be Messrs. W. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, and D. G. Sullivan,, M.P. for Avon. To-morrow, at noon, ;Mr. Nash will speak at the railway rkshops. To-morrow evening open-air meetings will be held in Petone, Lower Hutt, and Moera. The Petone miw-eting will bo held in Bay street, and 'he speakers will be Messrs. D. G. Sullivan, M.P., W. Lee Martin, M.P., arid C. H. Chapman, M.P. At the Lower , Hutt meeting, which will be held in Main street, near tho Dental Clinic, the speakers will be Messrs. H. G. B. Mason, M.P., W. Bromley, R. M'Keon, M.P., and P. Fraser, M.P. The speakers at the Moera meeting, which' will be held in the Post Office corner, will be Messrs. E. Semple M.P., iT. Brindle, and J. Thorn. A meeting of lady supporters of Mr. B:err will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Lower Hutt, to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30. Mrs. Kerr and Mrs Bernard Wood will be present To-night,- at 8 o'clock, Mr. James Kerr, United candidate, will address electors in the Methodist Hall, Waiwhetaa. To-morrow night, Mr. Kerr is announced to speak in the Moera Hall, and on 9j;h December he will deliver an address in the Alicetown Church Hall. Other dates of Mr. Kerr are as follow: 10th December, Empire Theatre, Petone; 12th December, Knox Church Hall, Blackbridge; 13th December, Eastbourne Theatre. On 10th December, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister ■of Public Works, will speak in the King George Theatre, Lower Hutt an<l on 11th December Mr. Kerr will commence a series of lunch-time meetings by addressing the employees of the Gear Meat Company. To-morrow afternoon, at Lower Hutt, a meeting °^ ladies will be held in the interest! of Mr. Kerr's candidature. Details may bo had at telephone 46-398 All ladies of Eastbourne are invited to attend a meeting to bo hold in the t.ouncil Chamber to-morrow at 230 p.m., when Mrs. Harold Johnston will address the gathering. On Monday Mr Johnston will speak at Koro Koro in -the school hall at 8 p.m., and on Tues™l* wetu in the Methodist bnurcn Hall.
Meetings of Mr. Kerr's committees were held at Petone and Lower Hutt last evening. The reports received were most encouraging, and offers of help were coming from all quarters, toixty csvs have been promised by private owners for use on election day At his meeting at Moera last night, Mr. W. Nash, Labour candidate for the Hutt seat, referred to Sir Joseph Ward's promise to find work for the whole of the unemployed" willing to work in five weeks. The figures then began to go np rapidly, and though the Government said work had been found for over 5600, according to the United candidate there were still 6000 unemployed, although the Government had ceased to publish the figures of the unemployed.
