That the day will -come when scientists should be chosen as Governors of British Colonies instead of distinguished soldiers, sailors, and politicians was the forecast of Sir Richard Gregory, when presiding at the dinner of the Royal Empire Society, in conjunction with the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
