UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF
The weekly meeting of the Ecd Cross Unemployment Relief Committee was held on Tuesday, tho Eev. B. Ingiis presiding. Assistance in the way of clothing, etc., was given in the case of the family of an ex-Imperial soldier who had broken down in health. An endeavour will tie made to secure a pension for the man. Assistance in the form of clothinig and foodstuffs was given in a case reported from Lower Hutt. Help had also been given. in other deserving cases, and men had been dispatched to take up work offered by private people. The committee is dealing with twenty new eases, most of tho men being physically handicapped and requiring light employment. Persons having light work to ofter arc requested to communicate with the secretary, telephone 22-57.1.
