; The second sale of the season in Wellington opens at 9 a.m. to-morrow at the Town Hall with an aggregate catalogue oE 22,555 bales. The New Zealand Wool Committee had limited the December offering to 27,000 bales, so that there is much less wool offering than was provided for, and ;this should stimulate competition.
'. The season opened at Wellington on 14th November with a catalogue of 7978 bales, .when merinos and fine crossbreds (of winch there were not many) were at a discount, but medium and coarse crossbreds v-Ky ro.jrc popular. Napier followed with 9501 bales, when prices were reported to b« in advance of Wellington quality, being described as better. At Wanganui, following, 8700 bales were offered and 90 per cent, were sold, growers electing to meet the market. Auckland put up a catalogue of 17,225 bales, and the market ;was generally firm. Christchurch opened 'its season with 15,200 bales, the bulk of Iwhich was halfbred and Corriedale, growlers finding the market better than was ■looked for.
