SCOTS COLLEGE MOVEMENT
Movements in connection with Scots College continue, and no sign of diminishing activity has been manifested. Following upon the large meeting of parents and old boys of the college last Wednesday, a_ meeting of the committee appointed "at that meeting met the Board of Governors the following night, and the whole position was reviewed fully, the question as to the •rapid raising of the required £10,000 being the main discussion. All in the room were formed into a campaign committee with an executive directing them. It was reported at a meeting of the executive on Friday that already two parties had gone North seeking subscriptions from the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts, and it was resolved that "Wellington be done in a similar manner. The absolute urgency of raising £10,000 is realised ay all, and meetings of the Old Boys' Association and the Parents'- Assoeia-' tion are being held on Monday night, find both associations will report to a meeting of the Campaign Committee on Tuesday night. Money has been coming in quite freely, "but the minimum amount required is still a long way off. (To the Editor.) Sir,—lt is very pleasing to note the enthusiasm which has been awakened now that this fine institution is threatened with. extinction. It behoves not only parents of present and past scholars, but every thinking person in the community to put lorth every effort in an endeavour to raise the necessary funds to save this fine college. When we learn that 120 old boys from all parts of New Zealand were present at their last reunion, we must realise what their feelings at the present moment are, and what little pride have in,.their sch°ol careers should the worst happen and the college be closed.—l am, etc., ' MIRAMAR.
