SINGLE CONFEDERATION INTERESTS OF EACH, INTERESTS OF ALL (Received 25th November, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 24th November. Following up Mr. Baldwin's lead Mr. Neville Chamberlain, at'a meeting of the Junior Imperial League in London, said: "We have got to take a new view of the Umpire. Of the countries of the Empire, whether Dominions, Dependencies, or Colonies, all speak our language and acknowledge our King, but hitherto we have never begun to think of the Empire as one single confederation in which the interests of each are the interests of all."
He concluded by asking: "Is it not evident that if united in one policy, we have within the Empire the men, resources, and spaces necessary to •supply the needs of all?"
The "Observer" says that Mr. Baldwin does not embrace the whole theory of Free Trade within the Empire, but pledges the party to work for freer trade.
