ROSE SHOW.
The Wellington Rose Show on Wednesday will bring together many of the best rose-growers of the Dominion. The advance in rose culture the last fe^y years has been very marked, and nothing but high-class blooms will be shown. While the rose will take pride of place, many novelties will be shown. One enthusiast has promised a display of hydrangeas, recently imported from France, the colours of which are quite new to this district. A fine display of tree carnations is promised from Napier. The ladies' decorative classes are arousing much interest; A first-class orchestra has been engaged, and afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies of the society. The show, which will be open continuously from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Troup, at 3 p.m. Schedules may be obtained from any of the seedsmen of the city, or by direct application to the secretary, and entries for all classes close at 5 p.m. to-msrrow.
