UPPER HUTT CLUB
The Upper Hutt Rifle Club fired the third match of the second series on Saturday at 800 yards and 900 yards. The weather was fine> a choppy wind requiring careful attention. Some very good scores were made, and also some very bad ones. The best scores were at 800 yards. Riflemen A. Scott, 46; T. Whiteman and F. A. Whiteman, 44 each; L. Ridgway, 43. At 900 yards: Rifleman A. Scott 44, T. Whiteman 43; C. Whiteman 42, F. A. Whiteman 41, Rifleman A. Scott 90, and Rifleman H. Edwards, 69, secured legs-in for trophies in A and B class respectively. The following are the scores:— 800 900 . yds. yds. Hdp. Tl. A. Scott 46 44 — .90 T. Whiteman 44 43 2 89 F. A. Whiteman ..44 41 3 88 H. F. Whiteman ..41 39 8 88 C. Whiteman, 40-42-0—82; N. Kitchen, 38-344—76; L. Ridgway, 43-26-6—75; W. Thomas, 37-34-0—71; H. Edwards, 40-29-0— 69; W. Braid, 33-27-5—65. With one shoot to go in the second series, the following occupy the leading positions:— A Class—L. Ridgway, 163-14—177; T. Whitemau, 166-7—173; N. Kitchen, 164-9— 173; H. Whiteman, 153-19—172; A. Scott, 160-11—171; F. A. Whiteman, 159-12—171. B Class.—H. Edwards, 146-0—146; W. Baird, 133-7—140. Next Saturday the club will fire a musketry course practice.
