TOOHEY'S BREWERY
Toohey's Standard Securities, Ltd., has been registered in Sydney with a capital of £1,000,000, in 900,000 preferential and 100,000 ordinary shares, to undertake any trusts, to negotiate loans, and to purchase and dear insecurities or investments of all classes, etc. New Zealand shareholders in this company will be interested to learn that the main purpose of the subsidiary is to enable the parent company to make its financial arrangements to a large extent a matter of domestic policy between it and its shareholders, as well as advancing its interests in other directions. The management of this subsidiary company will be with Toohey's, Ltd., and the ordinary shares are reserved for Tooheys, Ltd. The scheme has been devised for the purpose of enabling the shareholders of Tooley s, Ltd., to participate in its financing without over capitalisation. The paid-up capital o£ Tooheys, Ltd., is £1,200.000, in 1,500,000 shares of 16s each, and for the past three years its dividend has been at the rate of 10 per cent. The advantage of the scheme will be seen. It will enable the company to obtain money at 7% per cent., as against the dividend rate of 10 per cent.
