The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cablegram from its London office, dated 22nd November, 1929, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date (with any movements in the week shown in . parentheses):—New Zealand wethers and maidens, Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561b and under 6%d, 571b to 641b 6%d, 651b to 721b 5 7/sd; other brands, 561b and under 6%d, 571b to 641b 6%d (up %d), 651b to 721b 5%d. New Zealand ewes, 641b and under 4%d. New Zealand lambs, Canterbury quality, 361b and under B%d, 371b to 421b 8d *(up %d), 431b to 501b 7%d, seconds 7d; selected brands, 361b and under B%d, 371b to 421b 7?4d; other brands, first quality, 361b and under 7%d, 371b to 421b 7y 2 d; second quality, 301b to 321b average, 7d. Australian lambs (new season's): Victorian, first quality, 361b and under B%d (up %d), 371b to 421b 7 7/sd (up %d). Argentine, lambs (new season's): First quality, 361b and-under 7%d, 371b to 421b 7 J/ 2 d. New Zealand beef: Not quoted. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, 5d (up *4d); ox hinds, 7%d (up Hd). Australian frozen beef: Ox crops, over 1001b, 4%d (up %d); ox hinds, over 1601b, 6%d (up %d). New Zealand frozen pork:. Porkers, 60 to 801b 9'/4d, 811b to 991b 9%d, 1001b to 1201b 9%d; baconers, 1211b to 1801b,' riot quoted. Frozen veal; Not quoted. Lamb market: Slightly better inquiry for first quality. Mutton market: Wethers quiet; ewes steady. New Zealand porker pigs: Firm with good trade. New Zealand baconer pigs: None available.
