NEW YORK, 19th November. At Eastland (Texas), Marshall Eatehffe was lynched by a hundred men to-night, following his attempt to break gaol. Rateliffe is notorious as the Santa Claus bandit, who, dressed in Christmas outfit on 23rd December of* last year, led a gang into the Cisco Bank, killing two officials, while escaping with several thousand dollars. He already has been convicted of murder, and when awaiting a new trial lie tried to escape from gaol early this morning. The mob hauled him over a telephone yardarm. The ropo broke and on falling Batcliffe pleaded for time to mako a speech. He could not make himself heard, however, and within a few minutes ho died at the end of a stroneer rope. s
