Speedsters who appear in the Magistrate's Court are not often as candid°as the young defendant who admitted on Monday a charge of speeding on a motorcycle (states the "Christchurch Times"). "I'll have to get rid of my motor-cycle anyway now," he said. "Why?" asked Mr. X C. Levvey, S.M. "I was made to promise I wouldn't go speeding." "Who made you promise that?" "My mother." "She's a very wise woman!" said Mr. Lewey. "Under the circumstances', you will be fined 20s and costs."
