LODGE MEETINGS
Ngatitoa Lodge, No. 143, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting at Porirua last week, Bro. Rowney, Noble Grand, presiding over a large att (dance. Four candidates were initiated., Bro. E. Hook, Past Grand, installed Bro. J. Philips in the office oC treasurer.
The fortnightly meeting of Maraenui Lodge No. 124, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held recently, Bro. J. A. Elliott, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Donations made by Bro. Gray, P.G., and Bro. Evans, P.G., to the Christmas Tree fund
were gratefully accepted. The cribbage shield won by Maraenui was handed over to the lodge. After closing the members of Raliui Lodge were entertained, anil a very enjoyable evening was spent in cards and dancing.
Zealandia Lodge, No. 4S, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting recently, Bro. R. ,W. Harvey, N.G., presiding over ii
large attendance. Visitors included Bio. J. Nind, D.D.G.M., Bro. F. J. Jones, P.D.D.G.M., Bro. J. H. West, P.G., C.P., Bro R. C: Andrew, P.G., and Bro. J. Elliott, N.G., and members of Maracnui Lodge on an official visit. Six members were reported on the sick list, and relative sick pay was passed. At the conclusion of lodge business the Bradley Memorial Cribbage Shield was competed for by teams representing Maraenui and Zealandia Lodges, the former winning as the result of a play-off between the captain and vice-captain of the respective lodges. The fortnightly meeting of Raliiri Rebekah Lodge, No. 49, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held recently. Several sisters volunteered to act on different committees, and a report was received from the Investigation Committee. The o ßitual Shield was presented by Sister G. Hakaria, P.N.G., Rahiri Lodge, to Sister E. Clark, P.N.G., Victoria Lodge. Visitors present included members of Victoria Lodge on an official visit, Bros. Whitby and Blanehard, and two brothers from Zealandia Lodge. The bi-monthly' meeting of Wellesley Juvenile Lodge, No. 2, J.0.0.F., N.Z., was held last week, Bro. R. Burgess, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Three candidates' -were"initiated, and two further candidates were nominated. After conclusion^ of lodge business members were entertained to a motion picture programme by Bro. Russell.
The usual fortnightly meeting of Wildey Lodge, No. 107, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held at Island Bay last week, Bro. A. Harding, N.G., presiding over a large attendance. Two brothers were reported on the sick list, and one member was proposed for membership. The Christmas Tree committee reported. A vote of thanks was accorded to Bro. Harvey, N.G., of Zealandia Lodge, who responded. After the lodge had closed, a social was held, during which a playlet was staged entitled "Why Smith Left Home," which was thoroughly enjoyed'by the large number present. During the evening some of the visitors gave musical items. Mr. D.- Wallis acted as pianist fop the singing and dancing, and a very enjoyable evening was .concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne.™ The fortnightly meeting of Lupe Lodge, No. 149, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held at Lyall
Bay last week, Bro. Henley, N.G., presiding over/ a good attendance. Two brothers were reported sick. Various committees were elected and general business was conducted: Visitors included Bro. M'Mahon, N.G., and members of Southern Cross Lodge, Bro. West, C.P., Port Nicholson Encampment, Bro. Havill, P.G., Wildey Lodge, and Bro. Rowney, N.G., of Ngatitoa Lodge. After the lodge was closed visitors were entertained at cards, etc.
