HOTEL DESTROYED

CHRISTCHUKCH, 18th November.
Ashley Bank Hotel, about twenty miles from Christehurch, was completely destroyed by fire this afternoon. The building was a wooden one of twenty rooms. The'fire broke out in the kitchen near the hot-water cylinder, and spread so quickly that there was no
time to save anything but a few clothes. The hotel was built in 1901, and was owned by Mr. Walter Ford, of Christchurch. The licensee was Anthony Scahher. The furniture was insured for £1000 in the Royal Office.
